(Shot the video first back in October, and now the post)
I’m going to tell you about something important when it comes to training, working whatever you trying to do whether you’re trying to get in shape, to get ready for some competition or bettering yourself.
The thing is you should never go through motions when you workout or train because eventually, it becomes a habit that can negatively impact your performance in the being the best you can possibly be.
And what I mean by that is when you go through the motions every day you’re not going to know your limits, you’re not going to push yourself. You’re going to be doing the bare minimum to get by in the gym while training or wherever your training you’re doing.
And eventually you’re going to plateau out because you’re not pushing yourself over your limits like you should be and you’re going to be wondering why am I’m not making any gains or seeing any changes on my body or this or that.
Then eventually somebody hopefully might be brutally honest and point out to you, that when your workout, you’re just going through the motions. There’s no drive, no energy, no pushing your pedal to max…nada!
Furthermore, not only does this affect you in this area of your life but also in other areas of your life because you’re going to go through the motions in other areas of your life too. Instead of putting in as much effort as you possibly can within current moments and future moments in any endeavor that put your mind on accomplishing.
So, it’s bad to develop that type of negative habit. You should always strive to push yourself, you have to push yourself past your limits to know how far you can go. If you don’t, you NEVER know how far you can go. Your body is stronger than what you think it is, it’s capable of going beyond crazy pain barriers than you can imagine.
Imagine, if you weren’t worried about pain…imagine how much you could achieve physically!
When you workout, go through the pain. It’s going to make you tougher, it makes you stronger, you realize how far or more you can take it. There’s a difference between bad hurt pain and your muscles screaming in agony wanting you to stop. That’s your body trying to protect you.
But when it comes to working out, you have to push yourself past your pain barriers in order to reach your maximum potential. Because if you don’t, you’ll never reach your potential, you’ll plateau out, you won’t see the results, and you look the same as you looked 2 years, 5 years or 10 years ago…tt’s a crime to not have changed your physique in that amount time..you should be locked up and thrown jail lol.
The point being is, I’ seen it with people going over years of going through the motions when I did wrestling, when I workout in past gyms, or in some type of endeavor that requires work.
I give you an example, when it came time for the guys that went through the motions to wrestle in a duel or in a tournament they would get roffle stomped, get smurfed up, pancake stacked, and everything bad when it comes to getting your butt kicked in any sport.
And then they wonder why are they getting asses kicked left, right, up and down. But I knew the reason and it was because they weren’t putting in the work, and again…just going through the motions.
This also applies to other men, I’ve been around at different gyms over the past 8 years and I would see the same guys in person or on social media. That have been at the gym, for months, and year with no noticeably changes in their physique because they’re are just going through the motions and doing other craptastic things.
The whole point of this posts is to remind you that when you workout at the gym, at home, or outside is don’t go through the motions. Push yourself, go past your pain barriers, increase the weight, try different things that are going to stress your body and challenge you in many aspects.
The point of lifting weights, doing bodyweight training, or whatever type exercises you do is to improve yourself. Physical fitness is a pursuit of self development.
That’s going to not only improve your body but your mindset on things because you’re going to realize. That if you put in the work with your best effort and more time in anything you do, you’re going to get more bang for buck then going through the motions of doing it with half ass effort and time.
That’s just life in general, you have to work for what you want you just can’t put your feet lightly on the pedal and it expect it to go full throttle. You have to smash down on that motha sucka to not go through the motion.
Until next time…
