Most people that are seriously into fitness, health, weight training and being strong neglect one of the most visible muscles on the human body when your out and about. That’s not visible covered by most clothing, being your neck.
It’s rare for me to see somebody training their neck during. I’ve seen people work their necks a few times at the gym I went to that was one the most masculine gyms I’ve been to in my life. However, the men that worked out their necks did them on a machine that worked out the neck muscles by pushing the pad back with your head. Which that was about all I saw, it’s not enough to work the entire neck musculature.
I believe the reason why a lot of people don’t work their necks because they don’t realize how a strong neck could protect them from an injury, give them more pleasing attractive look, or save their life. Plus, they are also not taught how to safely train their neck muscles to be stronger. I could go on and on for reasons why people don’t do that.
Nonetheless, your neck is one of your most important body parts, your thyroid is the neck that is responsible for giving your the body the hormones it needs to function, blood goes through your neck into your head out and supplies the brain with fresh blood, you have several vital nerves running your neck etc.
The point being is that if you have a weak neck, or it’s not adequately trained. Then it’s easily susceptible to being injured which can affect you in a slight way or into serious life threatening way. Because I as I’ve mentioned above, if something in your neck/cervical vertebrae is damaged, injured, or destroyed.
Then it can effect something in your brain, somewhere in your body, your whole entire body, or worse…kill you. Even if you’re not killed from the injury, it could change your way of life for awhile or for life that can effect you negatively.
I think it’s very important for men and women to train their muscles to stronger. Of course, the majority of men who aren’t into fitness don’t want a powerful neck. Also, the vast majority of women don’t want a muscular neck that will ruin their feminine beauty, even the one’s who are really into fitness.
Which that’s fine, but there are ways to train your neck to get stronger without it becoming too muscular or ways to improve neck health without investing a lot of time.
Nonetheless, I’m not aiming this article for those people who don’t consider their neck health important.
Furthermore, if you invest energy into improving your neck strength and making it stronger progressively over time. The less likely you are to be injured in a car accident from the whiplash, you’re less likely to get knocked from a blow to the head, your more likely to break free from somebody choking you from the front or back etc. Your neck is basically more resilient to becoming injured overall, and it benefits your health in so many ways.
So, if you’re reading this and taking it seriously then you should start investing the time and energy into making your neck stronger. By starting out small, gradually increasing the volume of sets as your neck gets stronger.
You don’t want to directly jump into training your neck by doing a lot of sets and different variations neck exercises. That would be overkill for the untrained average neck of most people.
Anyway, there’s a lot of information out there on several ways to work your neck muscles and equipment you can buy that can help out to improve the size, strength, power, and flexibility of your neck.
Start investing the time and energy into strengthening your neck muscles before you get an injury that forces you to start rehabilitating your neck or that kills you. Your neck plays a crucial role in proper head and neck stabilization, but it also helps in activities involving shoulder movement, breathing, and essentials in keeping you alive and functioning 100%. So take your neck seriously my friends.
Until next time
